Legal Update Meeting – OSHA Whistleblower Program

Come join ASSP, WASC, and the GMSC for a panel discussion on the OSHA Whistleblower Program.  Three OSHA whistleblower retaliation investigators will talk about the different OSHA statutes involved, how they are violated, how they are investigated, potential damages, litigation, among other topics!  See below for some examples:

1. OSHA 11(c) safety and health whistleblower claims.
2. Transportation safety and health whistleblower claims (for DOT regulated drivers for manufacturing, construction, and transportation employers) under the Surface Transportation Assistance Act (STAA).
3. Food safety and health whistleblower claims under the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), for example, for food manufacturer employer.
4. Consumer products safety and health whistleblower claims under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), for example for manufacturer employees.
5. Environmental safety and health whistleblower claims under the various federal environment statutes, for example, for manufacturers of several different types.

The panelists will also review what effective employer policies and procedures contain to not only reduce potential whistleblower claims, but also put the company in a better light if a claim is filed and investigated.
